Connecticut’s New Britain Museum of American Art faced challenges in establishing a robust digital presence and engaging diverse audiences with its core collection.
I collaborated with interpretive planner Stacey Mann to develop a digital strategy roadmap for NBMAA. Our team engaged in a thorough discovery process to clarify goals and obstacles, culminating in a daylong charrette, where we worked with museum staff, educators, and community members to brainstorm and sketch potential digital experiences. These concepts invited visitors to dig deeper into the collection, ‘remix’ the art to build personal relevance, and juxtapose Early American and contemporary works, creating new stories about what it means to be American.
